Green energy modeling, two months early.

The challenge

An energy consultancy needed distributed computing infrastructure to run large-scale green energy models — in the middle of a supply environment defined by hardware shortages and port restrictions. Their timeline assumed everything went right. Nothing about the market suggested it would.

Our approach

We leaned on the distribution channels we'd built through the shortage years: early access to equipment before general availability, alternate routing around congested ports, and staged delivery so integration work could start before the final pallet landed. Design, purchasing, and deployment ran as one coordinated schedule instead of three separate ones.

The outcome

The infrastructure went live more than two months ahead of the project timeline. The client's modeling team started producing results while their original plan still had hardware on the water.

A design laboratory built to be used hard.

The challenge

A major design school needed a laboratory of high-performance workstations for 3D modeling and design coursework — specified correctly, installed around an academic calendar, and integrated with campus IT. Past vendors had delivered boxes; the school needed a working lab.

Our approach

We handled the program end to end: workload-driven system design, procurement, physical installation, software configuration, and integration with existing campus infrastructure. Every machine was imaged, validated, and benchmarked before students touched it.

The outcome

The lab opened on schedule and stayed our responsibility — under a long-term service contract covering maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle planning, while the university retains full ownership of its hardware. That structure has since become how we recommend every institutional fleet be run.

Supply continuity through the global chip shortage.

The challenge

From 2020 through 2022, GPU demand across AI research, workstations, rendering, and gaming outran supply so badly that smaller organizations were effectively locked out — large actors absorbed allocation, and everyone else waited in queues that never moved.

Our approach

TMT Computing was founded inside this problem. As a small distributor with direct vendor relationships and total flexibility, we allocated supply to the businesses the big channel overlooked — teams that prioritized speed and access, and needed a partner willing to work SKU by SKU to find real inventory.

The outcome

First revenue and profitability within six months of founding; more than $1M in gross revenue by year two — every dollar of it hardware delivered into hands that couldn't get it elsewhere. The vendor network built in those years is the same one our clients draw on today, now as an NVIDIA Preferred Channel Partner.
